Purpose
Capstone Men and Women are a group of students selected to serve as official ambassadors of The University of Alabama. They have been part of the University’s public-relations program since 1962. Originally named the Crimson Girls, the organization accepted its first male members in 1976 and changed its name to the Crimson Girls and Capstone Men. In 1991, the name of the group was changed to Capstone Men and Women.
Capstone Men and Women assists the President’s Office, Office of Undergraduate Admissions and National Alumni Association in providing tours to prospective students, parents and other campus guests to help them gain a better understanding of all aspects of the University. They provide a warm welcome and support various university functions both on and off campus. Last year, Capstone Men and Women gave over 3,800 tours.
